Maps + Lands
The area of "The Midlands" is a equator/sub-equator continent, roughly the size of Australia. It is humid, tangled with jungles, and ripe with life in the north, and edges into deciduous and temperate climates with colder winters in the south.

Below is a map of the terrain (left) and a map of the tribal territories (right).





Environment work. The continent is criss-crossed with rivers, and the mountainous territories in the north boast several impressive waterfalls, with pools and fishing grounds.



This was the first iteration of housing development. I ended up discarding this ideation because it was too medieval with the timber ribbing and wooden planks. I kept the concept of wrap-around decks and thatching with clay/earthen walls.
A new concept and base colors for buildings. Includes African influence, and keeps the wrap-around planking. It also involves some lodgings being built directly into the earth, such as the side of a hill. This involves the cooling properties of subterranean buildings, and ecological benefits for grazing animals.
